MolinaCares Commitment

Molina was founded in Long Beach, California and has been committed to supporting families and communities across the state for more than 40 years. Molina is a trusted managed care partner in providing high-quality health services for Medicaid, Medicare, and Covered California members.

Working every day to improve the lives of our members

MolinaCares is dedicated to improving health outcomes with a focus on promoting women’s health, keeping families and children healthy, providing quality care, and helping those living with illnesses.

Our COVID-19 Response

The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of California, recently hosted a virtual panel titled Addressing Social Determinants of Health and Access to Care Against the Backdrop of a Pandemic, with opening remarks from San Diego Board of Supervisors Chairman Nathan Fletcher.

The panel experts examined COVID-19 through a local lens in terms of its long-term impact on physical and environmental factors impacting access to coverage and care. They focused on the critical need for cross-sector collaboration to ensure communities have access to high-quality care and services to improve health outcomes.

The full panel discussion can be viewed here.

MolinaCares partnered with San Bernardino County to provide vaccine support. Molina contacted eligible members to schedule vaccine appointments for vulnerable individuals, including those who are 65 years or older, those who identify as a high-risk ethnicity, and those with disabilities or certain health conditions.

Promoting Women’s Health

Women have unique health care needs that are often underserviced. One of our top priorities is to make sure women in California have access to screenings and other preventative health measures they need. We are dedicated to providing access to the full spectrum of care for pregnant women and new mothers – from connecting members to obstetricians to addressing the needs of new mothers after their children are born.

Keeping Families and Children Healthy

MolinaCares is dedicated to the full spectrum of children’s needs, beyond just physical health.

  • Food insecurity is an issue plaguing communities across California, and Molina is doing its part to help provide healthy food to California’s children. That’s why Molina has donated more than $100,000 to dozens of organizations in Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Orange Count, and Imperial.
  • A strong mind is as important as a strong body. Many children in California lack the learning materials they need at home, and Molina is dedicated to helping close the gap.
  • Children need positive role models to help guide them to healthy behaviors. Molina is proud to support efforts to enrich children through pairing them with community members who model healthy routines.
  • The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of California, recently hosted a virtual panel on Helping Children Thrive in a Post-Pandemic World. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond offered welcoming remarks before a panel of experts, moderated by CalMatters reporter Ana Ibarra, and discussed the impact of COVID-19 on children’s health. The panelists focused on how California’s youth can be supported as the state prepares to return to a sense of normalcy with its scheduled reopening on June 15.

Providing Quality Care

MolinaCares is reaching Medicaid members in every corner of the state and providing high-quality health coverage for qualifying Californians. For over 15 years, Molina has served in many of California’s most diverse communities – contacting and interacting with members in schools, health fairs, and other gatherings to connect qualified families to the care they need.

We prioritize serving members in communities across California that lack adequate resources and care, ensuring they are connected to needed health care services.

Recently, MolinaCares hosted a panel of experts to discuss how communities of color have been disproportionally affected by COVID-19 and how to promote health equity across the state. The panelists focused on the social determinants of health and vulnerable communities, the impact COVID-19 on essential workers who are widely staffed by people of color, and the higher rates of job loss and chronic health conditions – putting them at higher risk to the virus.  You can watch the full panel here.

Helping those Living with Illness

Community health is as important as individual member health, and MolinaCares is working diligently to keep its members healthy and improve the well-being of entire communities. Through partnerships with community organizations, we can help those living with chronic conditions lead healthier lives. Molina not only covers members’ access to medical treatment, but also prioritizes helping members build healthy habits.
